English Premier League Title Race Takes On Greater Momentum

Friday, March 19th, 2010

The current title race for the English Premier League is perhaps the closest ever seen for over a decade. Fans have often had to endure the usual two horse race or another season dominated by Manchester United, with Chelsea and Arsenal only the two teams consistent enough to challenge them. The three usual suspects are once again involved this season, but with few signs indicating which of them have a greater advantage compared to the other two. The battle has now stoked public imagination with no one knowing which club will become champions in May.

There was nothing to suggest such a scenario when the season was just a few months old. Chelsea were the early league leaders as they started well. They appeared ready to wrap up the title in record time as no other side appeared to be capable of getting close. Their names might even have been transcribed onto the trophy then.

Something then went very wrong as the London team fell apart gradually. While recent revelations about John Terry might have led to more disruptions, the problems definitely began sometime before Christmas. Chelsea’s huge lead at the top of the Premier League quickly dissipated as both Manchester United and then Arsenal closed in on them.

What has been most incredible about the race has been the form of Arsenal. The young Gunners team have been beaten soundly by both Chelsea and Manchester United in all four of their meetings this season. Other lesser teams would have let their heads drop with such demoralising results, but Arsenal continued to chip away at the distance between them and the other two title contenders.

The situation has since then seen a total turnaround with Chelsea no longer enjoying a substantial lead over the other two teams. Carlo Ancelotti has started to show the profile of a man under enormous pressure to deliver even though he has been in the same position several times in the past. However, his time in Italy might not have been as stressful as what he has been put through with Chelsea and he could ultimately pay the price for a possible lack of success come the end of the season.

As Chelsea continues to crack under the pressure, the teams from Old Trafford and the Emirates will not hesitate to move in for the kill. Manchester United are, once again, the overwhelming favourites to come out ahead due to the many titles they have won in the past. While they are in the best position, their aspirations could be damaged by a surprising lack of consistency. They are also too dependent on Wayne Rooney and heaven help them if the England striker suffers a season ending injury. They will learn more about their chances in the next Man Utd vs Liverpool live stream match which will examine the suitability of their mental strength.

Suffering the most from personnel problems have been Arsenal. It is amazing that a club shorn of the services of their three most important players for the greater part of a long season continues to be among the frontrunners for the top prize in English football. It is to Arsene Wenger and the team’s credit that they have not given up even if they have missed the creative talents of Cesc Fabregas, Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey.

With so many possible scenarios that might throw a spanner in the works for each team, the battle to claim the top English football prize will become more unpredictable as each week goes by. The uncertainty surrounding each week has seen leadership changes after almost every round. It is anybody’s guess who will eventually come out on top to be crowned champions of a fascinating season of the English Premier League.

chelsea manchester city

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Last evening its was the first Chelsea bitten at home by Man City after 1993. That was one of the worst result for chelsea and their fan.  Frank Lampard’s low strike put Chelsea in lead but Carlos Tevez equalised after a long ball was not dealt with, before Craig Bellamy shot beyond Hilario.  City had failed to score previous  seven visits to Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea had only conceded eight at home in the Premier League all season.

All eyes before kick-off were focused on Terry and Bridge dispute, who came face-to-face on this match for the first time since allegations about the former’s relationship with the latter’s ex-partner. Chelsea was winning in possesion and all in first half but they lost total control in second half and playing like headless chicken.  Last pen of Lampard at least put chelsea in such remarkable score to display. It was totally home defeat for Chelsea.

Inter Milan – Chelsea – UEFA

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

That was really good match to watch. Chelsea did same thing which Arsenal keep doing since long keeping more and more possession but no good hit. Chelsea was winning at second half and the penalty that they have missed before half was really not forgettable they should have raise it on top level because that was the chance for them to come back to the game again. Drogba has tried lots and almost on target only was he was not enough to bit lusio or goal keeper but it was look like level match none of them were looking heavy to each bother but Inter did good thing. Being a top in Barclays Premiership Chelsea has chance to prove lot of thing on this match, they tried their best but hard luck. Any way best of luck to them for future game.
