Saturday, March 27th, 2010Show Your Dedication to the Tigers with Clemson Checks
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010Are you a devoted follower of the Clemson Tigers? Would you like to make your personal bank checks more exciting? If so, then you might want to think about getting Clemson University personal checks. Aside from giving your checks some character, when you carry these checks, you can also showcase your Tiger pride.
Located in Clemson, South Carolina, Clemson University is a public university. Students are enrolled there from all 50 states as well as from 89 countries worldwide. The Clemson Tigers, the name given to the school’s athletic teams, have one of the most dedicated groups of supporters in the field.
The school’s official Tiger Paw logo has been around since 1970. Indeed, it was actually produced from the mold of a real live Bengal Tiger that made its home in the St. Louis Zoo. It is the hook at the bottom of the paw that shows that it is the real trademark for the university.
The Tigers football team won 2 Southern Conferences before it joined the ACC. Today, it is the leader among ACC schools when it comes to conference championships at 13. They have won 15 bowl games over the years and participated in 30.
Memorial Stadium is where the men’s football team plays its home games. Fans of the Tigers affectionately refer to memorial stadium and the Frank Howard Field as “Death Valley.”
Before the start of every home game, the team members get themselves into buses and drive to the top of the hill where they rub “Howard’s Rock”, a rock that came all the way from Death Valley. Subsequently, as the Tiger Rag is loudly played and a canon’s sound penetrates the air, the team members run jubilantly down the hill and into the field while the thousands of fans cheer for them. Sportscaster Brent Musburger has called this pre-game act the most exciting 25 seconds in college football.
If you are also a devoted fan, then you can show your support by carrying the Clemson University checks.
If you want to show off your Tiger pride then you basically have two check designs to choose from. The Clemson University #1 Fan checks are for those fans that paint orange streaks across their faces and rant and rave at the coaches on game day.
You can also purchase the Clemson Logo checks which are orange and contain the paw print design in the center of the check itself. Along with the checks, you can also buy matching accessories like the coordinating address labels and a debit wallet to complement the checks.
Don’t forget that by purchasing your checks online from a reputable site you can actually save as much as 50% off of the cost of the checks. You will also have a larger assortment of checks to pick from than your local bank might offer you. You can generally expect to get your checks in the mail in about 5 days.
Before you order Clemson checks, visit ClemsonChecks.com to find coupon codes and to save up to 50% off your next purchase of Clemson University checks.
The Chicago Bears – A Hopeful 2010 Season
Monday, March 8th, 2010The Chicago Bears are one of the most beloved teams across the NFL, and one of the oldest as well. They have been playing professional football since before 1920, and have been playing their all time rivals — the Green Bay Packers — since only a couple years after their original start. Over this time, the Packers and Bears have played more than 170 games; fans can look forward to this battle every season. The Bears have always played well as a team, regardless of team members, even back when they were first formed. In fact, the team didn’t experience big losses until nearly the 1930s. The Bears colors, that you know today, have been part of who they are since only three years after they started playing in 1922.
Back in the day, the Chicago Bears played scrimmage games on what is known today as Wrigley Field — the Cubs home field. Since then, obviously, the Chicago Bears have gotten their own field to call home — Soldier Field. Due to the age of the stadium, it was remodeled earlier this century, leaving only the street side wall from the original architecture. By 2003, the Chicago Bears were playing in their newly built stadium, now known as Soldier Field II.
The Chicago Bears have always made record sales for home games, and even games on the road. Ticket sales, for the Chicago bears, are well within the top 20 highest sales across the entire league. In fact, they are within the top 10 most profitable teams in the NFL, and its history, with a cash flow of 1.1 billion dollars. The combination of their solid history, the 2009 roster changes, and summer training, the 2009 season was just as eventful as every other season the Bears have given their fans. Jay Cutler, a Pro Bowl quarterback from the Broncos, joined the Bears in the spring of 2009, which added some great talent to their offensive line.
After 90 years on the league, the Bears have retired 13 numbers. Players like Walter Payton, Harold Grange, Sid Luckman, George Halas, George McAfee, and Bill George — some old and some more recent. Other retired jerseys belong to Willie Galimore, Dick Butkus, Bill Hewitt, Clyde Turner, Gayle Sayers, Brian Piccolo, and Bronko Naqurski. Their history runs deep and will for many years to come. Bears fans are just as dedicated to their team, as the team is to the field and their fans.
Football fans experience adrenaline like no other when watching a game, especially live, but nothing compares to the adrenaline a Chicago Bears fan experiences while sitting on the edge of their seat at Soldier Field II. In fact, Bears games are so thrilling you don’t even have to be a fan to feel as if you are in the game; they will keep you begging for more. You must see the Bears live in 2010 as it will be phenomenal season.

Keeping Children with Mental Disorders Safe
Friday, May 29th, 2009Who are the predators? Predators are Cyber Stalkers, serial killers/rapists, rapists, paedophiles, women beaters, child abusers, thieves and so on. Predators very often have mental disorders that keep them from behaving properly in normal society. Children with mental disorders are often the victims of these predators, and sometimes children with mental disorders are the predators themselves. In fact, the creator of one of the most serious viruses online came from an eighteen-year old English boy.
Dangers mental illnesses: Not everyone with a mental disorder is a danger to society. In general, predators with mental illnesses are the victims of sociopathic, psychopathic and anti-social disorders, oppositional defiance, conduct control disorders, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorders (BPD), and psychosis. While there are a few other mental disorders that pose a threat to our society, this is a list of the most common potential dangers that lurk on the streets and on the Internet.
How to save a child with mental disorders from dangers : Never treat your child as if he/she has a mental disorder. Treat your child as special, yet avoid treating the child as if he/she is mentally ill, since a lot of mentally ill patients are extremely intelligent. Teach your child the same rules that other children abide by and stick to the rules. Do not leave room for leniency when danger is present. Teach your child respect by showing respect yourself.
Children with dangerous mental illnesses will often want to watch pornography, violent images, content, et cetera. This makes it difficult as a parent to protect your child. However, it is important that you enforce the laws. Never put yourself in danger while enforcing these laws, since some children with dangerous problems may cause you harm.
If the child refuses to listen to you, bring the police in and make sure that they do their job to help you enforce the rules. You may pay court fees and go through headaches, but I promise you it will benefit you in the end. As a mother raising two boys with dangerous mental diseases, I can tell you it won’t be simple, but it can be done.
Children with mental disorders often have brilliant minds that can usually get past any parental controls and will do so without you even knowing. Take more time than normal to monitor your child’s behaviour online. Teach your child that giving out personal information is dangerous and encourage them to ask your permission when considering giving name, phone number or other information online.
Leave room for your child to take some responsibility and always encourage your child to participate in family discussions that concern them. Encourage the child to protect their safety by encouraging them to report any crime committed against them.
One of the hardest things you’ll ever have to do while raising a child with mental health problems is teaching him/her to stay away from violent images and pornography. It is next to impossible to keep them clear of this trash. However, it can be done if you set a good example for the child to follow.
It is important that you keep talking and listening to your child. Allow your child to express concerns, opinions, ideals, theories et cetera without demeaning the child. You will be amazed at the knowledge children with certain mental illnesses have, if you will only listen to them.
The best advice I can offer you for dealing with children with major mental illnesses, such as psychopathy, is to seek help and stand firm. For additional child safety advice for children with mental disorders get advice from a qualified counsellor.
Note: Children learn what they see and hear.
How To Choose MCSA Courses (110509)
Friday, May 29th, 2009If you’re thinking about an excellent career in network support then the Microsoft MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) course is an ideal qualification for you. Whether you want to get going or are experienced already but no certificate, there’s a range of courses to suit your requirements. Each of these scenarios needs a different solution, so pay attention that you’re on the right one in advance of spending your money. Identify a company that’s eager to understand you, and what you’re looking to do, and one that has the ability to make available the clear facts to make your choice.
Listening to the sheer volume of debate on the area of Information Technology (IT) currently, how can we understand what in particular to look for?
Make sure you don’t get caught-up, as many people do, on the training course itself. Training for training’s sake is generally pointless; you’re training to become commercially employable. You need to remain focused on where you want to go. Never let yourself become one of those unfortunate people that choose a course that on the surface appears interesting – and end up with a plaque on the wall for a career they’ll never really get any satisfaction from.
You need to keep your eye on where you want to get to, and then build your training requirements around that – don’t do it the other way round. Keep on track and begin studying for a job that’ll reward you for many long and fruitful years. All students are advised to speak with an experienced advisor before deciding on their training program. This gives some measure of assurance that it has the required elements for the career path that has been chosen.
Be on the lookout that any certifications you’re working towards are recognised by industry and are bang up to date. ‘In-house’ certificates are not normally useful in gaining employment. From a commercial standpoint, only the top companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (for example) will get you into the interview seat. Anything less won’t make the grade.
People attracted to this sort of work are often very practical, and don’t really enjoy classrooms, and slogging through piles of books. If you identify with this, go for more modern interactive training, where everything is presented via full motion video. We see a huge improvement in memory retention with an involvement of all our senses – learning experts have been saying this for many years.
Study programs now come on CD and DVD discs, so everything is learned directly from your own PC. Through video streaming, you are able to see your instructors showing you how to perform the required skill, and then have a go at it yourself – in an interactive lab. Every company that you look at should willingly take you through some examples of the materials provided for study. You’re looking for evidence of tutorial videos and demonstrations and many interactive sections.
Some companies only have access to online training only; while you can get away with this much of the time, consider what happens if internet access is lost or you only get very a very slow connection sometimes. A safer solution is the provision of actual CD or DVD ROMs that removes the issue entirely.
There is no way of over emphasising this: Always get full 24×7 professional support from mentors and instructors. You will have so many problems later if you don’t heed this. Never purchase study programmes that only provide support to students with an out-sourced call-centre message system after office-staff have gone home. Companies will always try to hide the importance of this issue. The simple fact of the matter is – support is required when it’s required – not as-and-when it’s suitable for their staff.
We recommend looking for providers that use several support centres across multiple time-zones. Each one should be integrated to give a single entry point and also 24×7 access, when it’s convenient for you, with the minimum of hassle. Don’t accept second best when it comes to your support. The majority of would-be IT professionals who drop-out or fail, are in that situation because of a lack of support.
Charging for exams up-front then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status is common for many training course providers. But let’s examine why they really do it:
Certainly it’s not free – you’re still coughing up for it – it’s just been included in your package price. People who go in for their examinations when it’s appropriate, paying for them just before taking them are much more likely to pass. They are conscious of their spending and prepare more appropriately to make sure they’re ready.
Don’t pay up-front, but seek out the best deal for you at the appropriate time, and save having to find the money early. In addition, it’s then your choice where to sit the exam – so you can find somewhere local. A surprising number of so-called credible training course providers make huge profits because they’re getting paid for all the exam fees up-front and hoping either that you won’t take them, or it will be a long time before you do. Also, ‘Exam Guarantees’ often aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. The majority of organisations will not pay again for an exam until you’ve completely satisfied them that you’re ready this time.
On average, exams cost 112 pounds or thereabouts in the last 12 months when taken at Prometric or VUE centres around the United Kingdom. So what’s the point of paying maybe a thousand pounds extra to get ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when any student knows that what’s really needed is a regular, committed, study programme, with an accredited exam preparation system.
Commercial qualifications are now, very visibly, already replacing the more academic tracks into the IT industry – why then should this be? As we require increasingly more effective technological know-how, the IT sector has had to move to the specialised training that the vendors themselves supply – in other words companies such as CISCO, Adobe, Microsoft and CompTIA. Often this saves time and money for the student. Typically, the learning just focuses on what’s actually required. It’s not quite as straightforward as that, but the principle objective is to focus on the exact skills required (including a degree of required background) – without attempting to cover a bit about all sorts of other things – in the way that academic establishments often do.
As long as an employer knows what areas they need covered, then all it takes is an advert for the exact skill-set required to meet that need. Vendor-based syllabuses are set to meet an exact requirement and do not vary between trainers (like academia frequently can and does).
Being a part of the information technology industry is one of the more exciting and ground-breaking industries you could be involved with. Being up close and personal with technology is to be a part of the massive changes that will affect us all over the next generation. We’re in the very early stages of beginning to get an inclination of how technology will define our world. Computers and the Internet will massively alter the way we view and interrelate with the rest of the world over the coming years.
If making decent money is up there on your list of priorities, you will appreciate the fact that the average salary for IT employees in general is much more than salaries in much of the rest of industry. Due to the technological sector emerging at an unprecedented rate, it’s predictable that the search for certified IT professionals will continue to boom for a good while yet.
Computer Career Training Courses In The UK (110509)
Friday, May 29th, 2009Congratulate yourself that you’ve already got this far! A small number of workers enjoy their work and find it stimulating, but vast numbers complain to each other and take no action. The fact that you’re here means it’s probable that you’ve a personal interest in re-training, so even now you’re ahead of the game. What comes next is find out more and then take action.
We’d strongly advise that in advance of taking a training course, you run through some things with a mentor who can see the bigger picture and can make recommendations. They can assess your personality and help you find your ideal job to train for:
* Is it your preference to work in isolation or is being part of a team vital for your sanity?
* Are you thinking carefully about which market sector you maybe could work in? (Post credit crunch, it’s more important than ever to choose carefully.)
* After re-training, how long a career do you hope for, and will the market sector give you the confidence that will happen?
* Do you feel uncomfortable with regard to the chance of getting new work, and staying employable to the end of your working life?
Consider the IT sector, that’s our recommendation – it’s one of the only sectors of industry still growing in this country and overseas. Another benefit is that remuneration packages are much better than most.
Reaching the most fitting career development option is very difficult – so where do we need to look and what are the questions we should be seeking the answers to?
An advisor that doesn’t ask you a lot of questions – it’s likely they’re just trying to sell you something. If they’re pushing towards a particular product before looking at your personality and whether you have any commercial experience, then you know it’s true. Don’t forget, if you’ve had any relevant qualifications that are related, then you can sometimes expect to begin at a different level to a student who’s starting from scratch. It’s usual to start with some basic user skills first. This can set the scene for your on-going studies and make your learning curve a bit more manageable.
The age-old way of teaching, using textbooks and whiteboards, is an up-hill struggle for the majority of us. If this sounds like you, look for learning programmes which have a majority of interactive, multimedia parts. Studies in learning psychology have shown that long term memory is improved when we receive multi-sensorial input, and we get physically involved with the study process.
Search for a course where you’re provided with an array of CD and DVD ROM’s – you’ll learn by watching video tutorials and demonstrations, and be able to use virtual lab’s to practice your new skills. You’ll definitely want a look at some courseware examples from any training college. The materials should incorporate slide-shows, instructor-led videos and virtual practice lab’s for your new skills.
Avoid training that is purely online. Always choose CD or DVD based study materials where possible, as you need to be able to use them whenever it’s convenient for you – it’s not wise to be held hostage to your internet connection always being ‘up’ and available.
We can’t make a big enough deal out of this point: You absolutely must have proper 24×7 instructor support. We can tell you that you’ll strongly regret it if you don’t follow this rule rigidly. Be wary of any training providers who use ‘out-of-hours’ messaging systems – with the call-back coming in during typical office hours. It’s not a lot of help when you’ve got study issues and want support there and then.
The very best programs utilise an online 24×7 facility combining multiple support operations over many time-zones. You’re offered a simple environment which accesses the most appropriate office at any time of day or night: Support when it’s needed. Never settle for anything less. Online 24×7 support is really your only option with computer-based study. Perhaps you don’t intend to study during the evenings; usually though, we’re working when traditional support if offered.
Workshops can be portrayed as a big positive benefit by some trainers. After talking to most IT hopefuls who have used them, you’ll likely realise that they’ve now become a mistake mainly due to the following:
* All the travelling required – lots of visits and often hundreds of miles each time.
* Requesting time out of work – most schools can only give Mon-Fri class availability and typically group 2-3 days together. This is generally difficult for those of us who work for a living, even more so if you include the travel time on top.
* Usually, we find twenty days annual leave is not really enough. Sacrifice over half of it for study classes and see your problems doubled.
* Classes sometimes reach their maximum intake very quickly, leaving us with a less-than-ideal slot.
* Often, tension develops in the classroom where most students want to move at a pace comfortable for them.
* The growing costs associated with travel – travelling to the training college and of course over-night bed and breakfast can mount up over several visits. If you only assumed 5-10 centre-days at a cost of 35 pounds for one night’s accommodation, plus forty pounds for petrol and 15.00 for food, that becomes a minimum of four to nine hundred pounds of hidden costs that we now have to fund.
* You should never risk even a small chance of getting side-stepped for potential advancement or pay-rises because of your studies.
* Asking questions in a class full of students sometimes makes us feel awkward. Ever avoided asking a question just because you were worried it might make you look silly?
* Usually, days in-centre are virtually impossible to attend, when you work away for part of your week or month.
For a far more flexible approach, employ filmed lessons at the location of your choice – taking them when it’s convenient to you – not someone else. Study from home on your PC or use your laptop to enjoy the sun. Any questions that pop up, just utilise the 24×7 Support (that should’ve been packaged with any technical type of training.) Forget taking notes – all the lessons are prepared and laid out for you – ready to go. And if you want to repeat anything, it’s all right there. Put directly: You avoid a bunch of hassle, save money and time, and avoid killing more trees.
Huge changes are washing over technology in the near future – and it becomes more and more thrilling each day. Many people are of the opinion that the increase in technology we’ve had over recent years is cooling down. All indicators point in the opposite direction. Massive changes are on the horizon, and the internet in particular will be the biggest thing to affect the way we live.
The money in IT isn’t to be sniffed at either – the income on average in the UK for the usual IT professional is noticeably better than average salaries nationally. Chances are that you’ll receive quite a bit more than you’d expect to earn doing other work. Because the IT market sector is still increasing at an unprecedented rate, it’s looking good that the need for professionally qualified and skilled IT workers will continue actively for years to come.
Losing Weight With Resveratrol Ultra
Friday, May 29th, 2009In the media as well as the news, resveratrol has been making a huge splash.
Television shows like Oprah have even gone as far as to recommend viewers to take this amazing supplement because of its great proven benefits.
60 Minutes, the popular television program, first investigated red wine 17 years ago. They were particularly interested in why the French were so thin despite a diet high in such foods like cheese. Red wine, as we know now, is a drink that is full of resveratrol. We now know that resveratrol was very important to staying healthy.
Even clinical studies show the results of resveratrol. In one study, two mice were raised and given a high carb diet. However, one of the mice was also given a resveratrol supplement while the other one did not.
After an extended period of time, the body masses of the two mice were measured. The mouse that had been taking the resveratrol supplement was 30% thinner!
Our bodies can only absorb about 40-50% of the nutrients we eat. So, the rest of the food ends up being stored in fat cells for many years at a time. Often, this excess turns into toxins.
Resveratrol is a very strong anti-oxidant and is able to go in and destroy these toxins so that they do not damage our bodies. Even if you only use resveratrol for a little bit, you can receive many benefits.
If you are interested in getting positive effects from resveratrol, you should consider a resveratrol supplement like Resveratrol Ultra. At the time of this writing, Resveratrol Ultra is even being offered as a free trial so you can give it a shot and see the results before having to spend a dime on it!
Debt Consolidation and Reduction
Thursday, May 28th, 2009So, you can see the writing on the wall now, you are in too deep and your creditors are starting to ring you at home in the evenings too. You know that you have to do something, but you don’t know exactly what. It’s so embarrassing talking to the kid from the debt collection department, especially over the phone, but you don’t want to take time off work to go down there either! But you can’t wish the problem away either. You think that you ought to look into debt consolidation and reduction.
However, before you think about debt consolidation and reduction loans, analyse your debts to calculate your total exposure. Debt is an avenue of credit lines afforded you by creditors who thought that you would repay the amount borrowed or owed. When creditors become aware that you are behind on your repayments, they will frequently delay a couple of weeks before telling the collection agencies.
During this time, you ought to contact your creditors and ask for an extension, balance reduction, or even a complete termination of the debt. Creditors expect their balance and therefore, they may extend your credit, since they want to avoid the problems that arise when reporting customers for non-payment.
Creditors do not really want to make enemies of their customers, since they expect their customers to show good faith and pay the debts and eventually continue doing business with them. If you fail to contact your creditors, however they will turn your files over to the collection agencies in the end if they have to. These agencies often use much more severe tactics to retrieve the money owed.
These agencies will go to almost any lengths to stress you to the point where you find a way to pay, or else stress you to the point that you need to seek professional help. Debt consolidation and reduction is a means of eliminating debts, while a loan may or may not be needed.
When you do talk to your creditors, ask them for leniency, so that you can attempt some form of debt consolidation and reduction by reducing your expenses. If the creditors agree to debt consolidation and reduction by lowering your payments, terminating it, or else providing you with an extension and you refuse to take advantage of their offer, ie, if you fail to make repayments after the offer is made, then they will not be as cooperative the next time you speak with them.
Make sure that you repay the debts as stipulated by your creditors to minimize any complications. Communication is of the utmost importance, because once you have ceased talking to your creditors, they have every right to go all out to retrieve their money. This will help you in your debt consolidation and reduction.
How to Avoid Burnout in Home Schooling
Thursday, May 28th, 2009It does not matter whether you are teaching in a traditional school or in a home schooling environment, there will come a time when you will go through burnout. This is something that you must avoid so that your learning progress is not adversely affected.
Here are a couple of useful tips that you can make use of to avoid possible home schooling burnout:
Know your limitations. From the very start, you should already know your limitations and those of your child. You must be able to doing things slowly sometimes, especially if your child is still very young since you have to bear in mind your child’s capacity to absorb. Most students are average learners (obviously), so you will have to give the lessons according to your child’s learning pace. Never expect your small child to read complicated selections nor your teen to get top marks in SAT exams.
Don’t follow rigid schedules, as this can put undue pressure on your child. You should just set an interesting routine for your child to follow. Children spend most of their time doing routine activities like getting up, eating hearty breakfasts, reading books, practising writing, doing light jobs about the place, etc. You must insist that they finish their routine activities before they can play outside or with the computer. Even these routine activities change from day to day, but you have to make sure that your child follows these routine activities. You can add in occasional incentives or fun activities if they finish their routine tasks earlier.
You should try to enjoy home schooling with your child. This is a good method of developing a strong relationship with your child and if you and your child can relate to each other, you will find it very much simpler to handle curriculum struggles and motivation issues later on. Aside from motivating and guiding your child, you can also pursue some of your own interests like gardening or cooking. If your child sees you enjoying your own interests, then he or she will also be inclined to do likewise.
Since your child is into a home schooling program, you should not try to mimic a traditional schools environment. Try to use unusual methods when teaching your child. Home schooling is also about flexibility and creativity, so if you can create a light-hearted atmosphere, you can probably avoid burnout.
Always try to remember that with home schooling, you don’t have to structure your teaching methods in the traditional way. You can just do things in a fun way especially with very young children so that they learn naturally. Just ensure you keep the day in the right perspective to avoid burnout. Although your children may forget some of the day’s lessons, that’s all right too because somehow they grow in intelligence as well as in physique.
For sure, your children will always think back on your moments together and remember fondly how well you treated them. The old song goes: “… there’s no place like home” and for little pupils, home is the best place to learn the first lessons of life. If your teenagers are already in high school or in college, they can still pursue home schooling if they so desire. That would also a good decision because you’d get to monitor your offsprings’ performance.
Parents always try to look after their children’s best interests, so, if after careful thought, you still reckon that home schooling is the best option for your family, then run with it. Just follow the advice mentioned previously to avoid burnout. Make time for enjoyable activities from time to time in order to prevent monotony.
Where To Do Your Web Design Course (110509)
Thursday, May 28th, 2009Almost exclusively, Adobe Dreamweaver is the first base for all web designers. It is probably the most used web-development environment in the world. The whole Adobe Web Creative Suite should additionally be understood in-depth. Doing this will familiarise you in Action Script and Flash, (and more), and could lead on to the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) or an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) qualification.
Knowing how to create the website is just the start. Driving traffic, maintaining content and various programming skills are the next things. Think about courses that also contain modules to include these skills perhaps HTML, PHP and MySQL, along with search engine optimisation (SEO) and E-Commerce skills.
Getting to the right job choice is very difficult – so which areas should we be checking out and which questions should we raise?
Trainees eager to start a career in computers and technology normally don’t know what direction they should take, or even which area to get certified in. Therefore, if you’ve got no know-how of the IT market, how could you possibly know what some particular IT person actually does day-to-day? Let alone decide on what training route is the most likely for your success. The key to answering this question correctly comes from a thorough discussion of a variety of topics:
* The kind of person you are – which things you really enjoy, and on the other side of the coin – what you hate to do.
* Are you looking to realise a key aim – like working from home someday?
* What scale of importance is the salary – is an increase your main motivator, or do you place job satisfaction a little higher on the scale of your priorities?
* Always think in-depth about the energy required to gain all the necessary accreditation.
* You will need to take in what is different for the myriad of training options.
In actuality, it’s obvious that the only real way to research these areas will be via a meeting with a professional who understands IT (and more importantly it’s commercial requirements.)
Usually, trainers will provide a shelf full of reference manuals. Learning like this is dull and repetitive and not ideal for remembering. We see a huge improvement in memory retention with an involvement of all our senses – experts have been clear on this for decades now.
Start a study-program in which you’ll receive a library of CD or DVD ROM’s – you’ll learn by watching video tutorials and demonstrations, and then have the opportunity to fine-tune your skills in fully interactive practice sessions. Any company that you’re considering should willingly take you through samples of the type of training materials they provide. You should hope for instructor-led videos and a wide selection of interactive elements.
Some companies only have access to just online versions of their training packages; while you can get away with this much of the time, think what will happen if your access to the internet is broken or you get intermittent problems and speed issues. It is usually safer to have physical CD or DVD discs which don’t suffer from these broadband issues.
The area most overlooked by new students thinking about a course is ‘training segmentation’. This is essentially the breakdown of the materials for drop-shipping to you, which vastly changes what you end up with. By and large, you will join a program taking 1-3 years and receive one element at a time until graduation. While this may sound logical on one level, consider this: What would happen if you didn’t finish each and every exam within the time limits imposed? Often the prescribed exam order doesn’t come as naturally as some other order of studying might.
To provide the maximum security and flexibility, it’s normal for most trainees to request that all their modules (now paid for) are couriered out in one package, all at the beginning. It’s then up to you in what order and how fast or slow you’d like to take your exams.
One thing you must always insist on is proper direct-access 24×7 support via dedicated instructors and mentors. It’s an all too common story to find providers that only provide office hours (or extended office hours) support. Beware of institutions who use ‘out-of-hours’ messaging systems – with the call-back coming in during typical office hours. This is no use if you’re stuck and could do with an answer during your scheduled study period.
The most successful trainers use multiple support centres across multiple time-zones. An online system provides an interactive interface to provide a seamless experience, any time of the day or night, help is just a click away, with no hassle or contact issues. Never settle for less than you need and deserve. Support round-the-clock is the only viable option when it comes to IT courses. Perhaps you don’t intend to study during the evenings; but for the majority of us however, we’re out at work at the time when most support is available.
You have to be sure that all your qualifications are commercially valid and current – you’re wasting your time with courses which end up with a useless in-house certificate or plaque. From the viewpoint of an employer, only the major heavyweights like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (for instance) will get you into the interview seat. Anything less won’t make the grade.
Look at the following facts and pay great regard to them if you believe that over-used sales technique about ‘guaranteeing’ exams sounds like a benefit to the student:
You’ll pay for it somehow. It certainly isn’t free – it’s simply been shoe-horned into the price as a whole. If you want to qualify first ‘go’, then the most successful route is to fund each exam as you take it, give it the necessary attention and give the task sufficient application.
Look for the very best offer you can when you take the exam, and keep hold of your own money. You’ll then be able to select where you take your exam – meaning you can choose a local testing centre. A great deal of money is secured by some training companies that get money upfront for exam fees. Many students don’t take them for one reason or another and so the company is quids-in. Astoundingly enough, there are providers that actually rely on students not sitting all the exams – and that’s how they increase their profits. The majority of companies will insist that you take mock exams first and with-hold subsequent exam entries from you until you’ve demonstrated an excellent ability to pass – which actually leaves you with no guarantee at all.
Exams taken at VUE and Prometric centres are around 112 pounds in Britain at the time of writing. Students should be very wary of forking out hundreds of pounds extra in ‘Exam Guarantee’ costs (often covertly rolled into the cost of the course) – when the best course materials, the right level of support and consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software is what will really see you through.
We can all agree: There really is absolutely no personal job security anymore; there’s only market and sector security – companies can just drop any single member of staff whenever it fits the business’ commercial requirements. In times of escalating skills shortfalls together with high demand areas however, we often locate a newly emerging type of market-security; driven forward by the conditions of constant growth, companies just can’t get the influx of staff needed.
The computing Industry skills shortage across the UK falls in at over twenty six percent, as noted by the most recent e-Skills investigation. Meaning that for every four jobs that exist throughout the computer industry, we’ve only got three properly trained pro’s to do them. This distressing idea underpins the requirement for more appropriately certified computing professionals throughout the UK. For sure, now, more than ever, really is a fabulous time to train for Information Technology (IT).
